We have previously carried Rosa Centifolia from Russia, but it is not currently available so we are now selling Rosa Damascena (Bulgarian), which is more expensive. The two versions of Rose oil are chemically different from each other, which may have important therapeutic differences to an aromatherapist, but our primary use for Rose oil is for its emotional effects. Sarah created a blend of oils to help her heal from traumatic childhood experiences and she highly prizes the Rose oil as part of that blend for its positive emotional effects. Both types of Rose Oil are reputed to have benefits for those suffering from depression, struggling with feminine confidence and sexuality, and for skin care (though common skin care products use synthetic rose constituents which do not provide therapeutic value) . It is also highly prized as a perfume. Sarah has found that a very small amount of Rose oil goes a long way. As the only economically viable method for extracting Rose is by using solvent extraction, it is probable that Rose Absolutes will contain small traces of chemical solvents.
